KANSAS CITY, Mo. - If your phone is ringing off the hook, it might not be the call you are waiting on.
This presidential year, voters are receiving more calls than ever, even if you are on your state's "No Call" list.
But for the first time, there may be a way to limit those political calls.
It is called the Political No Call list.
Since 2000, candidates contacted us in pre-recorded phone calls every election season.
People say the only way of avoiding the calls is an answering machine or caller ID.
Kansas City resident, Scott Myron, said, "I think they're annoying but if they want to do it then I'll just push delete on my answering machine."
But a Washington D.C. man decided enough is enough.
"We get a lot of phone calls from a lot of politicians. And we all had registered on the federal Do Not Call list," said Shaun Dakin.

So his Web site asks politicians to voluntarily stop calling members.
Since late 2007, he said 50,000 people have signed up and one major robocaller operation, as it’s called, has agreed to honor it.
Problem solved? One UMKC professor says likely not.
Doctor Beth Miller said your family's dinnertime is still likely to get spoiled.
So it appears the soliciting has only just begun.
Robocalls are pre-recorded from the candidate which experts say don't sway votes, instead may just remind people to vote.
Many campaigns still won't honor the voluntary political "No Call" list.
So if they call , ask them to remove your name from their list.
And make sure your local elections officials don't have your home phone number
